Last Saturday ITFC ventured to Champaign, IL to compete in this year's edition of Club Relays, as always hosted by the University of Illinois. Often referred to as Indoor Nationals, club teams from all around the BIG 10 and the surrounding area compete in this annual meet. The team was strapped in for a full day of competition as this meet typically doesn't end until around 11:00 PM, ending with a series of costume 4x400 meter relays.
The men's milers put down some great performances, most notably headlined by Grant Trentz with a blazing 4:38.27. Once again our very own Shriji Patel destroyed his own record in the shot put, throwing an impressive 12.43m, earning himself a 5th place finish. Nick Simpson, Beck Fitzpatrick, Zach Benoit, Jayden Patel managed a time of 8:44.51 in the 4x800 Meter Relay, the third best mark in that event in club history.
On March 29th the club will venture to Ames, IA for the 2nd Annual Cyclone Invitational at one of the nicest facilities in the region, keep on the lookout for some fast times!
